Justin R. Hall M.S. LPC-MHSP

Justin Hall is a Licensed Professional Counselor and Mental Health Service Provider with over a decade of experience in the helping professions. He is a Knoxville native, and he obtained his master’s degree in counseling from the University of Tennessee.

Justin has successfully worked in outpatient, hospital, residential, and crisis settings, providing services to individuals, families, and couples. He is experienced with helping his clients address depression, anxiety, family relationships, behavioral issues, trauma, couples’ issues, and life coaching. Justin truly believes in a therapy model of client empowerment, and seeks to partner with his clients to arm them with the skills to address their issues. Justin strives to remove the stigma of therapy and normalize it as a productive way to achieve life goals.

Teresa J. Cooper M.A. LPC-MHSP

Knoxville counselor

During her twenty years as a clinician, Teresa Cooper has worked with men, women and children from all walks of life.  The most common occurrences she has encountered include, but are not limited to, trauma, addiction, grief, depression, self-esteem, relational, and anxiety issues. More specifically, she has provided clinical services to children, adolescents, and their families in residential, intensive outpatient, and outpatient settings, with the goal of improving communication and strengthening family bonds. Teresa has considerable experience with family dynamics, and has guided parenting classes for many years.

Teresa believes that counseling is an interactive learning process and that life crises and problems do not have to be overwhelming or devastating, but rather can provide opportunities to move to a new level of personal satisfaction.  Teresa is originally from South Dakota, and obtained her master’s degree from the University of South Dakota. She has been happily settled in the warm South for nearly twenty years.

There is no reason to put this choice off any longer. After all, you deserve your love and affection and I would be honored to hear your story and walk the path with you. I have availabilities on my schedule Monday through Saturday and vow to see new clients within 24 hours, if needed.

K. Neal Hughes M.A. LSPE
Mr. Neal Hughes has been a practicing psychotherapist since 1989 when he graduated with a Masters in Clinical Psychology from East Tennessee State University. Prior to this he acquired a BA in Religion from Asbury College (now Asbury University) and a M.Div. from Asbury Theological Seminary with a specialized curriculum in historical theology.

His personal study and continuing education help him keep up to date on the latest research in the growing fields of mindfulness-based interventions and positive psychology. In addition he has presented on many different mental health topics himself including the integration of psychological and neurological functions in this region as well as in Minneapolis, MN and Seattle, WA. The use of mindfulness-based interventions and the technical eclecticism of Positive Psychology building on the foundation of neuroscience enable him to meet the needs of a wide variety of clients.

Mr. Hughes has been married to Jenny for 29 years and they have two grown children, Elizabeth and Patrick. He and his family moved to Johnson City and lived there for 28 years (a return to the area of his birth) before moving to Knoxville in November of 2012.

Nicola J. Hopkins M.S.W LCSW

Nicola Hopkins has provided outpatient counseling services for the past seven years. During this time she has enjoyed joining with individuals, families and couples in defining and meeting their personal goals. Nicola believes that therapy should be empowering and works to make the experience comfortable and relaxed. Nicola is a believer in the resiliency of the human spirit and finds great joy in helping others discover their power to heal.  

Nicola received her Bachelor's in Education at Central Michigan University and her Master's in Social Work from the University of Georgia. Before coming to East Tennessee, Nicola worked for the District Attorney in Atlanta, GA, working as a Victim Advocate in Crimes Against Women and Children. These years provided Nicola with daily trauma experience and sparked her desire to help individuals thrive.  

Nicola is licensed in the state of Georgia and Tennessee and is participating on many insurance panels.

G. Michael Pilcher Ph.D.
Dr. Michael Pilcher really enjoys working with a diverse clientele. His style is relaxed and compassionate, and he works to create a judgement-free environment. He comes alongside many different types of people who have various life problems they need help with. Dr. Pilcher truly believes that the clients he works with are more resilient than even they realize, and his goal is to help clients transform their lives in ways they didn’t know were possible.

He received his Master of Arts and Doctor of Philosophy degrees in Counseling and subsequently earned a Master of Science degree in Psychology. Dr. Pilcher maintains designations as a Licensed Professional Counselor-Mental Health Service Provider (LPC/MHSP) and Licensed Alcohol & Drug Abuse Counselor (LADAC) in the state of Tennessee, National Certified Counselor (NCC), Internationally Certified Alcohol & Drug Counselor (ICADC), Nationally Certified Psychologist (NCP) and U.S. Department of Transportation approved Substance Abuse Professional (SAP), respectively. All credentials are active and held in excellent standing.

As a result of providing quality counseling and forensic services to individuals, couples, families, and the community he was the recipient of the prestigious International Association of Addictions and Offender Counselors (IAAOC) Outstanding Addictions/Offender Professional Award, presented at the American Counseling Association (ACA) convention in Charlotte, NC, March '09.
