Observing Projects

During September 2012, we are tasking members to get outside, do some observing and report back at our October meeting.
Five 'projects' have been set with a view to getting everyone involved:
  • Variable Stars
  • Lunar Craters
  • Galaxies
  • Dark Sky Survey (Pleiades stars count)
  • Photographing Star Trails
  • Tracking Satellites.
The 'projects' are detailed in the Powerpoint presentation below. Some 'guides' are also available.

Why not link up with other members of the Society and try your hand at some of these projects as a small group! It's always nice to discuss and chat with friends during observing sessions.

Any reports/photos etc. should be send to Phil Green by the end of September, so that they can be incorporated into a presentation to show at the October 'members evening'.
