On April 3rd, 2013, the members of the KNAER Data visualization project collaborated with the Association of Educational Researchers of Ontario (AERO) in a Special Interest Group (SIG) session titled “Seeing what is before us: The use of data visualization” at the Ted Rogers School of Management. During this session, participants were invited to bring a laptop and their own data as presenters shared approaches to data visualization that have been explored as part of the KNAER project “The Use of Data Visualization Techniques to Share and Apply Toronto District School Board Research Findings”. The focus of the session was to extend the use of common software that people are already familiar with (i.e. Excel) as well as provide an overview of more advanced techniques and applications.
