Activities

Must Do:

• Watch video lessons Phonics Module 11 and Phonics Module 12 (available below).

• Download and complete the Phonics Module 11 Notes and Phonics Module 12 Notes (available below). Submit these notes on Canvas. 

• Read through the Morphemes, Affixes, Contractions, and Compound Words Study Guide power point and do the practice questions. There is nothing to submit for the study guide.

• Complete Phonics Quiz 7:Morphemes, Prefixes, Suffixes, Contractions, and Compound Words. Quiz is available on Canvas.

Should Do:

• Complete the Quiz Survey after your first attempt at the quiz and before you take an additional attempts.  Submit in Canvas. 

• Watch the Morphology Visual Drill with Jamey Peavler available below.

Aspire to Do:

• With a partner who has also worked through the free online Modern Classrooms Project course (or individually), create your own Modern Classroom lesson (with a video lesson; one must do activity, should do activity, and aspire to do activity; and a progress tracker) on any phonics topic of your choosing. I will need to see both of you in the video instruction if you do this with a partner. You may choose the grade level of your audience, but make sure what you do is grade level appropriate.

• Create a compound word game for the grade level of your choice (K-3).  Submit a word document of the game directions with a picture of the game materials.

• Practice the morphemes Jamey used in the Visual Drill video in the Should Do section.  There is a Practice with Morphemes video available below.
