Returning to My Roots: Cancer Education

I started my freelance career about 12 years ago by writing educational content for a then-brand-spankin'-new National Cancer Institute website on clinical trials called cancerTrials. (Echoes of that original content can still be found at www.cancer.gov/clinicaltrials/learning.) So whenever I get an assignment that involves writing content for people  with cancer, I feel as if I am returning to my roots. It's the kind of work I have always loved. Over the next few months, I will be partnering with past client Breastcancer.org to rethink and revise some of the site's existing content, as well as write some new sections. I am thrilled to be working with them again. On a related note, I just found out that a booklet I wrote for Living Beyond Breast Cancer in early 2010, LBBC's Guide to Understanding Treatment Decisions, was recently published in Spanish. It's nice to think that even more women and their loved ones are benefiting from this resource.
