English Articles

Below you find some downloadable articles in English language that cover selected topics of my work.
  • "CORFU" is a basic model or "map" for systemic thinking, first published in 2006 as "SF topology", and then developed into a more colourful presentation in 2009 in the course of a lecture about "leadership and complex adaptive systems".
  • The "Focus Chart" was originally developed by "Goal QPC", then changed by "Flowteam.com", and now here's my version of how to apply the format that I often found useful when trying to structure a meeting (or simply my own thoughts around a topic ...)
  • "Meta for solutions" explains six directly applicable ways to access the meta-level of metaphors in coaching conversations, solution focused and otherwise. This was first presented in a workshop in 2017 and published as a book chapter in 2020.
  • The title page of a scientific publication in "PNAS" (the journal "Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences", USA) is some kind of historical reminiscence here, linking back to my former life as a molecular biologist in the German Cancer Center. (Just recently I learned that this paper has collected 75 citations in other scientific publications since - my scientific ego smiled broadly ...)
  • "SF" stands for "solution focus", and the article about "SF Vocational Scouting" describes the experiences and principles applied during a group coaching program for vocational newplacement. "SF-topology..." is the earliest published version of my CORFU model. The "SF research review" extracts six articles from the literature to briefly focus on several aspects of SF consulting and coaching.
  • In "SF and Clean Space" four international co-authors share their experience with an experiment in "clean space" for self-exploration, that started with a workshop at a conference in 2017, and that had consequences - including a publication of this joint paper as a book chapter in 2020.
  • "Systems Thinking" is a brief summary of my understanding of different historical ways of defining "systems" in the first place, and of eight different "flavors", or variants, of applied systems thinking, between research and management. This was the basis for a book chapter published in 2020.
  • What's a Meta for?", first published in 2013, sketches out some thoughts about how metaphors work and what their benefit might be when consciously applied in coaching and consulting.
  • "Wishbone" is a "thinking map" offering orientation in attempts to clarify tricky situations. Each of its elements can be "translated" into lots of solution focused questions, or useful questions from other sources. This were the slides of a presentation at the SOLworld-CEE 2018 in Timisoara, Romania.
