King Kekaulike High School is organized into Smaller Learning Communities. At the 9th and 10th grade levels students are in Houses. At the 11th and 12th grade students are in Career Pathways.

Students select their pathway when registering for their junior year. This choice should be based on the career interests of the student. By taking multiple pathway core classes, students open their options for membership in different pathways. Students in a pathway will be with a team of teachers English/Social Studies/ Electives) who will work with them on integrated projects, including a Senior project. Project topics will be based on their pathway.

For example:

  • A senior in Health and Human Service could research, design and prepare a healthy options menu to serve to senior citizens at the Kaunoa Senior Center
  • A senior in BizTech could research and teach students about the pros and cons of using sites like MySpace.
  • A senior in Arts and Communication could design a 3-D model of the Kekaulike performing arts center.

Please select from the pathways below to find out about requirements, read course descriptions, and learn more about the program.
