Supremacist maoris and their European treatyist travellers often repeat the lie that maori invented trench warfare.

Even late last century, twisted historian James Belich credited northern maori with inventing trench warfare. THE FACT IS: Trench Warfare in the form of siege operations was already a developed art by the seventeenth century.
