-Away3D has an engine that can be used to create 3D flash games
-3D has 3 axes, X, Y, and Z
-Each point is called a vertex. These are defined as (X, Y, Z)
-Objects are created by use of polygons that fit together to form the object
-Triangle is the smallest possible object to draw in 3D
-Triangles are the basic building block in 3D
-Default: only one side of the polygon shows
-Model created by polygons is a mesh/wireframe
-Textures are used to create images and make them look more real
-Various texture types include:
  • Color mapping
  • Bitmap mapping
  • Bump mapping
  • Environment mapping
  • Normal mapping
-Light and shadow not very common is Flash due to lack of processing power
-Rendering is used to output the desired image in its final form
-Flash 3D engines:
  • Papervision 3D
  • Away 3D
  • Electric 3D
  • Alternativa Platform
