Some of my Places

Algonquin Provincial Park

Iconic Ontario Wilderness.

Limehouse Conservation Area

Crazy network of crevices. Great historical ruins. Nice stream.

Mt. Marcy and Haystack Winter Ascent

Top of the Adirondacks.

Tews and Webster's Falls

Hiking up the Spencer Gorge to these two amazing waterfalls is pretty special. If the waterflow is right you can get in behind the fall's curtain of water for an adrenaline rush (and soaker).

Mono Cliffs Caves and Crevices

Mono Cliffs Provincial Park is a wild place to go if you are looking for Crevices or Caves. It is my go-to place for a day hike. Parking and entry are free and it is large enough that you can't see everything in a day. But what brings me back is exploring the off-trail rocks along the cliffs. I've found a couple good sized caves and four distinct areas of crevices.

Kitchener to Hespeler by bike

Starting out near Victoria Park in Kitchener via the Iron Horse Trail, Wilson Park, Schneider's Creek, the Grand River trail and then the Speed River, this is a mostly off road route between the two cities. Highly recommended day bike - about 50 km.

Magnetawan River Canoe Trip

Five Day whitewater canoe loop in 'Northern' Ontario. The Magnetawan River is 3 hours north of Toronto. Tyler and I canoed it in mid-July with water levels higher than normal. Mosquitoes were horrendous but small and silent. Some rapids we ran, some we portaged, and most we lined. We went swimming unintentionally twice. Awesome adventure!
