Heritage Choir

Kingston Peninsula Heritage Choir was originally formed to commemorate New Brunswick’s history during the War of 1812 era. The choir put together a repertoire of songs and poetry that would have been heard in New Brunswick during this period. The story of the war was also conveyed through verbal commentary and audience participation during performances. The choir members perform in period costumes.Through the New Brunswick Provincial Committee for Commemorations of the War of 1812 and support from the New Brunswick Department of Tourism, Heritage and Culture; and River Jam Fredericton the choir was available to various communities and groups locally and throughout New Brunswick to add a unique dimension to their own events.

In 2016 the choir performed concerts to commemorate the 200th anniversary of the first steamboat in New Brunswick.

Joint concerts are planned for 2018 with a focus on the people of New Brunswick and their heritage.
