Focus:      Thomas King (1714-1798) of Louisa County, VA – earliest reliably documented ancestor to have this haplotype.

Objective:

To discover the parents of Thomas King.

To identify and test documented living male descendants of Thomas King.

Method:   Living males with the King surname that may be descended from this King line are encouraged to obtain the Y-DNA test.  A Y-DNA match in conjunction with documented genealogy will prove relation.

Enrollment in King surname group:

                        http://www.familytreedna.com/surname_join.asp?code=X39074&special=true

Results:    Four documented male descendants of Walter King (b.1764 Louisa Co. VA - d. 1830 Roane Co. TN) and Benjamin King (b.1767 Louisa Co. VA - d. 1852 Harrison Co. IN), sons of Thomas King, with matching Y-DNA confirm the above haplotype to be that of Thomas King (b. 1714, d. 1798, Louisa Co. VA).

Thomas is the Most Recent Common Ancestor for those tested and found to have this haplotype, as of November 1, 2006.
