I am currently an associate professor in  the Department of Creative IT Engineering (CiTE) at POSTECH.  I received  B.S. and M.S. degrees in Electronics  Engineering from Seoul National University, Seoul, Korea and Ph.D. degree from the School of  Electrical  and Computer Engineering of Purdue University at West Lafayette, IN, USA in 1994, 1998, and 2004, respectively. From 2004 to 2013, I was with IBM T. J. Watson Research Center as a Research Staff Member, contributing to POWER6 and POWER7  microprocessor design. My past research experiences include 3D VLSI integration, robust SRAM cache memory design, and low voltage circuit designs.  At POSTECH, I am focusing on materializing the vision of CiTE for interdisciplinary research and education.  In particular, I love exploring the boundary between device technology and circuit.  While continuing to push the limits in VLSI designs for low power, low voltage operations, I am currently focusing on neuromorphic circuits, machine learning hardware accelerator, and flexible device/circuits.
