Garbage Service

posted Apr 6, 2019, 1:43 PM by Killarney Glen Court Newsletter

Hi Everyone,

An update regarding the missing recycling bins in the garbage sheds.

We've been reviewing our garbage, recycle, and compost service and are looking for a service provider that balances service with cost.

Over the past couple of months, we've been working with ACMS to get an apples-to-apples comparison between the top options - something way tricker and time consuming to pin down then we could have imagined.

While the contract with the past waste service company has recently expired (hence the missing recycle bins) we will be contracting the new company in short order. Recycling will be reinstated, as with regular waste and compost pick-up.

In the interim, if you notice a full bin, please use an alternate garbage shed and notify ACMS. Should you have any questions or concerns, please let ACMS know.

We'll provide another update as soon as we have the new waste service contract in place.

Sincerely,

Your KGC Board

Humidity and Leaking Issues

posted Feb 22, 2019, 2:36 PM by Killarney Glen Court Newsletter   [ updated Feb 22, 2019, 2:37 PM ]

A number of units that have reported water dripping through bathroom fans.

When we have extended cold periods condensation build-up in attics becomes more noticeable and may result in moisture ingress into the home – aka – water dripping through bathroom fans.

This ingress would also be noticeable around light fixtures or other areas where the warm interior of the home comes in contact with the cold exterior such as at the top of the interior wall where they meet the ceiling.

If you have a fan in your bathroom, we encourage you to use it while showering – and ideally for about 30-40 minutes afterwards – to help avoid this issue.

If you’d like more information we’d encourage you to read the attached PDF sourced and shared by our ACMS consultant Cindy – thanks Cindy!
