Summer Camps

Summer camps websites are a dime a dozen. If you google Marietta summer camps, you will find websites that specialize in this. I am going to highlight some summer camps that perhaps off the beaten path a little or a summer camp that has a specific purpose like art or performing arts or sports.

Featured Camps 

Classical Conversations  Practicum -  Free 3 day conference for parents.  Camps are only $42 per student for all three days.   
Join veteran homeschooling parents for three days of encouragement and inspiration as we seek to understand the classical model of education and learn how to apply it in Christian homeschooling. This year we will be navigating history from a classical perspective as we learn the art of argumentation

 Grace Community Church - Marietta (Kennesaw Ave) -  Two weeks of Kids Camp usually the last two weeks of June. Week 1 is ages 6 - 8 and is $100. It has a half day option of $75.00. Second week of camp is for ages 9 - 12 and cost $100.00. 

Chattahoochee Nature Center - Camp Kingfisher -  Hours 9 AM - 4 PM - Free extended care. We squish through and explore 127 acres of ponds, trails, meadows, and river boardwalk at the beautiful Chattahoochee Nature Center. Our facility’s amenities include The Gold LEED certified Discovery Center, a junior-Olympic size pool, 5 indoor classrooms, and Kingfisher Hall, camp’s air-conditioned meeting space.

Stitch Pretty - Various weeks - 9 AM - 12 PM or 9 AM - 4 PM;   Camps include Fashion Design and Sewing, Crochet and Felting, Stuffed!, American Girl Doll Fashion Sewing, and Beginner Sewing Camp.  


Art/Music/Dance/Drama Camps 

  • Art Station Shanty  -  ages 4 - 13 - All summer art camps are $90 (or $115 if you live outside Cobb County)
  • Johnson Ferry Baptist  
    • Beats & Brushes Camp - - Boys and Girls ages 4 and 5 -Children engage in fun activities with art and music, and perform a small musical the last day of camp.
    • Teeny Tykes and Tunes Camp -- Boys and girls - 3 months to 3 years - An interactive experience for children and parents to build musical foundations through the use of songs, rhythm, instruments and movement.
    • Summer Show Offs - Boys and Girls completed grades K - 11  Music day camp using songs, instruments, drama and dance to build confidence and character.
    • Dance Camp -
      • Girls ages 3 - 4  Intro to ballet and jazz and daily craft activities
      • Girls ages 5-14 Rotations between ballet, jazz, tap and crafts 
     
Science & Technology Camps
  • Kennesaw State University Camps  - Camps include Tykes & Bytes Lego Robotics (gr 1-3), Minecraft Mod Design (gr 4-6); Lego Robotics Engineering & Programming Explorer (gr 7-9)
  • Big Thinkers Science Exploration - Several locations in Marietta and around Atlanta  - Full Day (9AM-4PM):  Extended care available.   Big Thinkers camp is for rising kindergarten through rising 5th graders

Museum Camps 
  • Atlanta History Museum - Different Weeks - 9 AM - 4 PM -  Ages 6-8 and ages 9-11/  .Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM. 
  • Atlanta Botantical Gardens - Several different options of half day and full day camps available. June - July - 9 AM - 1 PM or 9 AM - 4 PM
