Music Classes

  • SoliMusica Academy - A music program run by Susan Brown and April O'Keefe for homeschoolers and their families. Mrs. Brown and Mrs. O'Keefe have taught orchestra in public schools with a combined experience of over forty years and have taught over a thousand students to play violin, viola, cello and bass in orchestra. They teach the stringed instruments in a group orchestra setting for ages 9 and up.

  • Joyful Noise Homeschool Band - Marietta, GA - homeschool band run on Christian principles, meeting weekly on Fridays at Sandy Plains Baptist Church in Marietta.  Joyful  Noise  Home  School  Band provides band and orchestra instruction on four levels.  We begin with students who don’t know how to read music or hold their instrument and help them progress to playing more and more complex and difficult music.  All music types are explored: Classical, Swing, Modern, Traditional, Hymns, Praise, Marches, Sacred, and much more, depending on the class.  We offer opportunities for students to perform, as well as leadership opportunities for older students who assist the directors. In addition to the band and orchestra programs, Joyful Noise also provides two levels of jazz band, chorus, recorder, guitar,  woodwind ensemble, brass ensemble and a preschool music program called “Joyful Noisemakers” and even Marching Band

  • Mastering the Piano -   Davide Palmer - A professional, classically trained piano teacher who offers piano lessons in Roswell, Marietta, Alpharetta and Woodstock GA.  Note from Davide - I am a highly successful piano teacher who travels to students homes in Cobb, Cherokee and Fulton County. Almost half of my students are homeschoolers!  I offer many recitals/events throughout the year, a very balanced, complete curriculum and a vast amount of teaching experience.   • Tri Tone: The Music School - Our music school was founded locally by homeschoolers and offers violin, viola, cello, piano, guitar and drum lessons to students. We offer private instrumental lessons, as well as intro clinics, summer rock band camps and summer ensemble workshops. We have a studio in the E.Cobb/Roswell and Alpharetta areas. We teach all styles of music and all teachers are classically trained with over 10 years teaching experience.  We teach all ages and levels and have been fortunate to have some of the most advanced students in the state.  Even students younger than 5 can begin on piano with our unique, fun curriculum. Art Classes

  • Art Station - Shanty offers both children's and adult classes including drawing, painting, pottery, glass fusing, drama, and more.Summer Camps  

  • Elm Street Cultural Arts Village - Woodstock, GA - offers drama and art classes and camps for kids and teens including art classes specialized for homeschool students as well as events such as teen arts night, plays, and performances.  

  • Marcus Jewish Community Center - Dunwoody, GA - Participants in Homeschool Extras can get active with sports like tennis, gymnastics, and swimming while exploring their artistic side with drama and dance.Offered on a semester basis, Homeschool Extras programming is uniquely designed for three age groups: 4-6, 7-9, and 10-13. MJCCA membership is not required, and Homeschool Extras is open to the community.

  • Homeschool Art Club: Petit Artist - The Homeschool Art Club will be held on the first Thursday of each month at Petit Artist in Woodstock for 1 hour from 11:00 am to 12:00 noon. The HAC will will cover a variety of topics including art theory, art styles, famous artists, concepts, and design techniques. Each class will introduce a famous Artist and art style and create 1-2 pieces of inspired art related to the artistic style of the featured Artist. Students will develop a portfolio of work and review materials. Students will be expected to attend regularly and save art work and study materials.
