COMMUNITY VISITORS SCHEME

The Community Visitors Scheme is an Australian Government Initiative.

This program aims to empower people who are lonely and isolated in Aged Care facilities. Our Community Visitor Coordinator manages seven Aged Care services and ensures all volunteers are trained and matched with participants. These visits are held at various Aged Care Facilities within the local area. Depending upon the resident’s needs, some volunteers visit once a week or once a fortnight for one hour. Families and staff members from local Aged Care are very appreciative of these valuable visits.

The aim is to enrich the quality of life of people residing in aged care facilities who may be lonely or socially or culturally isolated. The scheme matches volunteers to residents and requires the volunteer to visit the resident at least once a fortnight for an hour.
