Keysborough Learning Centre is a Not-For-Profit (NFP) community organisation which provides a wide variety of educational and community programs. It is the Learning Centre and Neighbourhood House for the suburb of Keysborough. Everyone is made to feel welcome.
To ensure everyone has access to our services all buildings have wheelchair access, fees are kept to a minimum and childcare is subsidised while parents are attending their classes (subject to vacancies).
Educational Programs offered include: Certificate programs in Aged Care, Children’s Services and Information Technology, Computers and Business Skills – all levels from beginners onwards, MYOB Accounts Package, VCE English Units 1 & 2, English as a Second Language, Literacy and Basic Education, Arts & Crafts Social Activities and Support Programs. The Keysborough Learning Centre delivers quality further education and training in a comfortable community environment.
Our programs target:
Community Programs offered include: providing emergency food relief (Open Door),a weekly subsidised podiatry service, a Men’s Shed, a Community Visitors Scheme, Broadband for Seniors, CALD computer tutoring and community computer kiosk, various support groups (including Rainbows child grief counselling), health and well-being programs and a number of activities (particularly for seniors and CALD) to help with isolation.
Courses and services are constantly being reviewed and updated to ensure they remain relevant to the local community needs. If you would like us to run a specific course or program, call or write and give us the details.
KLC is a Registered Training Organisation (RTO 3890) and provides Nationally Accredited Training, including Certificate I, II and III in General Education for Adults and Certificate I & II in Information Multi Media Technology, Certificate III in Children’s Services, Certificate III in Aged Care, Certificate II in Business, and similar courses. We pride ourselves on proving a professional and encouraging environment for students.
KLC teachers have a wide range of experience, skills, and commitment. Many have completed Certification in Assessment and Workplace Training. Courses are conducted in an atmosphere of support and encouragement with class numbers kept small to ensure individual attention. If you have a skill you would like to share and you can communicate well with adults, please contact reception.
The Keysborough Learning Centre is a separate legal but unincorporated entity, with its own Constitution, an independent Committee of Management, and separate Financial Reporting systems (including annual external independent audit).The Keysborough Learning Centre is auspiced by the Resurrection Catholic Church Keysborough, a parish of the Catholic Archdiocese of Melbourne (ABN 29 576 011 616). The Keysborough Learning Centre is an RTO, a registered charity with the ACNC and has DGR status with the ATO.
Keysborough Learning Centre’s primary purpose comes from its Constitution, which states that “The Object of the Centre shall be to act … at all times as a community dedicated to service and care for all…Provide a friendly place of learning and enrichment … seek at all times to remain within the financial reach of low-income people and families ...Without discrimination, be a place of welcome to all in the community of Keysborough”.
