Kevin is a nationally recognized Black Health Equity Champion whose empowers individuals and teams to make their highest contributing by highlighting talent. He directed the Children’s Mental Health Programs at Mental Health America of Georgia and helped 30 schools implement mental health programs from children and parents. Kevin also served at Grady Health System in Administration as a Patient Experience Advocate. Kevin worked closely with executive leadership and middle managers to transform the system into a patient centered care environment. Kevin’s success at Grady earned him the Shining Star of the Year Award.

Kevin continued to thrive in Black Health Equity in the Communicable Disease Branch of Fulton County Health and Wellness where is served as a Coordinator. He linked and advanced primary care access to hundreds of Black males which saved lives. Kevin also served as the Coordinator for Georgia State University's African American Male Initiative and led a cohort of 250 Black males into university leadership roles, career education, and academic achievement. He launched the first Joseph H. McClure Award highlighting the first African American to graduate from the earn a bachelor's degree at Georgia State University in Business. Georgia State graduates more Black students than other University in the country. In this role, Kevin’s earned the Tribute to Achievement Award.

Kevin also served as a Senior Administrator at Charles R. Drew University of Medicine and Science in the College of Medicine. Some of his proudest moments include producing a national conference in substance use disorder for clinical faculty, practicing physicians, and mid-level providers. Also presenting to a national physician audience on mitigating Clinical burnout.

Kevin recently made history and presently serves as the City of Long Beach’s first Black Health Equity Coordinator where he is working to promote Black Health and reduce health disparities from the Covid pandemic and beyond. Kevin completed his Doctoral coursework at Capella University in Public Health and earned a bachelor’s degree from Morehouse College. His research interest includes increasing the number of Black providers, mitigating Clinician Burnout, and increasing Black male belonging, and Behavioral Health Integration. In his spare time, Kevin loves to sing, support Black business, play water sports, and entertain in his backyard.
