Stones taught me to fly

Love taught me to lie

Life taught me to die

So it's not hard to fall

When you float like a cannonball

Director's Notes

The Collective Company's 2007 season will feature two culture versions of Romeo and Juliet:  The Legand of the Hummingbird by Sarah Nerboso and an all-male production of Shakespeare's original classic, directed and edited by Kevin Connell.

Eight men, eight chairs, eight props and a piano shape this chamber rendering of Shakespeare’s Romeo + Juliette.  The time is today reflecting yesterday.  We are in the essence of fair Verona.  Some of the music is contemporary.  Some is Elizabethan.  And the words that fill the ninety-minutes’ traffic of our stage are intimately uncluttered and essentially true to the heart of the legendary tale of woe - the story of Juliette and her Romeo.

Romeo + Juliette

 Jeremy King as Juliet

Douglas Goodenough* as Capulet

Ralph Petrarca* as the Nurse

Mike Timoney* as Friar Laurence

 Sean-Michael Wilkinson as Tybalt
