I am a Professor of Finance at Nova Southeastern University. I received my Ph.D. in Finance from Texas A&M University in 2011 and hold dual MS degrees in Economics and Finance from the same institution. I earned my BA in Economics from National Chung Cheng University in Taiwan. Before joining NSU, I was a member of the finance faculty at Bentley University. I currently serve on the Editorial Advisory Board of the Review of Accounting and Finance.

My research interests primarily lie in empirical corporate finance, with a current focus on the interactions between investor heterogeneity, externalities, and firm policies, as well as their relations with agency issues and capital prices. My studies have been published in Financial Management, the Financial Review, the Global Finance Journal, the Journal of Business Finance & Accounting, the Journal of Business Research, the Journal of Corporate Finance, the Journal of Empirical Finance, the Journal of Futures Markets, Management Science, and the Quarterly Journal of Finance.

At NSU, I offer UG/MBA/MS level finance, economics, econometrics, and special topics courses at the Huizenga College of Business & Entrepreneurship (HCBE) and the Farquhar Honors Program of Halmos College of Arts & Sciences. I am the current Honors Liaison of HCBE and served as faculty advisor for the NSU Personal Finance and Investments Association during the 2021-2022 academic year. Throughout all stages of my life since graduation from high school, I have been actively engaged in teaching and advising activities. Before embarking on my academic career, I served as a tutor in college, a drill sergeant in the Republic of China (Taiwan) Army, and a course instructor in graduate school. I also coached soccer at my local AYSO region and was a peer instructor for my hip-hop dance club in college.

I enjoy spending time with my students and find those interactions refreshing and inspiring. I strongly see how teaching and research comprise an ecosystem where the two fuel each other. Some of my topics originated from class discussions, and my research often contributes to flourishing course content.

Outside work, I enjoy traveling, restaurant-hunting, and watching horror movies.
