Book of the Year Awards 2011

The
 2011 Short List were announced on April 12th with the winners to be announced on Friday 19th of August. The announcement will be made before Children’s Book Week which runs from Saturday 20th – Friday 26th August. 

The Theme for this years book week is "One World, Many Stories"

Things to do with the "One World, Many Stories" Theme

Book week 2011 - "One World, Many Stories" :- After reading the story Grandpa sang, go on a tour of the world in this web adventure. The site contains background information about the book and printable activity sheets. A fantastic journey around the world!.
One World, Many Stories :- This companion global tour to the summer reading theme "One world, many stories" contains resources for nine countries plus a "global" section, for ten units altogether. Each section includes an Activity page, links plus more.
Activities - One World Many Stories :- Your mission is visit each of the seven continents and find out information about each one. A fantastic page.
Reading around the world :- Just color and cut out the kids, then do the same with each costume.  Have fun dressing the kids in cultural folk costumes from around the world!
I love to read :- From the Montana Office of Public Instructions used for the February reading program could be adapted for use. (pdf)
