I have designed a colloidal/ionic silver generator that is very simple to operate requiring little knowledge of the process. The device has a few advanced features.

Some of the features are:

         Very simple to operate, simply place over a glass of water so the electrodes are fully immersed, the machine will determine if the water quality is ok, if the water is ok the machine will operate, if not the device will display a relevant message.

         If the water is unsatisfactory a red LED is illuminated.

While running the LCD will display:

  •         The time the unit has been operating.
  •         The electrical resistance between the silver electrodes.
  •         The target coulombs.
  •         A running total of the silver stripped from the anode and the coulombs required for the task.

A green LED inside the case flashes to indicate normal operation.


When the process is finished the LCD will display:

  •          The time taken for the process.
  •          The coulombs or amount of silver removed from the silver anode electrode.
  •          The electrical resistance between the silver electrodes when the process terminated.

A green LED inside the case remains on at the end of the process.

More features:

  • Four different programs selected by using a circuit mounted DIP switch. Normally only set once to the preferred program.
  • The device can be programmed, at the time of manufacture to display, joules, siemens, ohms, time, micrograms, or coulombs.
  • Auto cut off by time, amount of silver, coulombs, water resistance (ohms) or conductivity (siemens).
  • All major components are on the circuit board.
  • IP65 sealed ABS enclosure. 
  • The custom designed PCB fits the enclosure like a glove.
  • The calibration routine is almost impossible to run by accident.
  • Micro computer controlled.


Main Disadvantages:

  •  No user controls so less options.
  • The display is a little harder to see inside the IP65 sealed ABS enclosure.
  • No schematics of software for this device are in the public domain.

 



 

About the water:

Normally only distilled or deionised water will enable the device to operate.

Claims:

No claims are made about the uses of the water treated using this device.

About the Silver:

Certified 99.99% pure is used.

Stirling Silver is 92.5% silver the remainder is typically copper, not suitable.

Fine Silver is 99.9% silver, not suitable.

Indian Silver is 90-92.5% silver and is alloyed with lead and copper!  Most unsatisfactory.

Note: Rubbish in rubbish out.


About the power supply:

An approved double insulated 100mA to 500mA, 16Vdc to 24Vdc regulated power supply should be used.

Unapproved cheap power supplies are dangerous in most applications other than when used as a paper weight.
