Kenny C. Gross is a Distinguished Engineer and researcher
in Oracle's Physical Sciences Research Center in
San Diego. Kenny specializes in advanced pattern recognition,
continuous system telemetry, and dynamical system
characterization for improving the reliability, availability, energy
efficiency, and security for enterprise computing systems
in business critical cloud data centers.
Kenny has 231 US patents for his innovations, 195 scientific
publications, and was awarded a 1998 R&D 100 Award for one
of the top 100 technological innovations in the world that year,
for an advanced pattern recognition technique (MSET)
that was originally developed for nuclear and aerospace
applications, and is now being used across a variety of US industries, inclucing
most recently for applications to improve quality, dependability, and optimal energy
efficiency for enterprise computer servers and storage, from the component level,
box level, rack level, and across the data center.
Kenny's Ph.D. is in nuclear engineering.
