About US

The Kendall Community Chorus began in September of 2008. The Chorus will be rehearsing  this year at the Kendall United Methodist Church on Kendall Road in the town of Kendall.  For the past 3 years, the chorus has performed benefit concerts to assist in acquiring funds for the Kendall Park Committee, the Kendall Bicentennial Committee, the Kendall Fire Dept./Ambulance Fund, and food items for the Kendall Food Shelf.
The Chorus is made up of members who love to sing and enjoy performing in a group. For the last 3 years we have averaged a membership of at least 50 participants. It is not necessary to read music. It is necessary to attend one rehearsal a week.  The chorus practices on Monday evenings from 7-8:45pm and Saturday's from 10-11:45am.
Each member chooses the best practice time that fits into their schedule.
The Fall season will begin on Monday,  August 22, 2011. This will begin our 4th Singing Season.  It is an important year for the chorus. They will be presenting 3 major performances during the Kendall Bicentennial Celebration.
A) The chorus will be performing a CHRISTMAS concert on Dec. 2nd. to benefit both the Kendall Food Shelf and the Kendall Bicentennial Festivities.
B)Then Rehearsals will begin in January of 2012 to prepare for the opening ceremony performance on April 28th.
C) Following that, the Community Chorus will be the catalyst for the production of a Bicentennial Community Musical, "The Music Man",  to be performed July27 and 28 of  2012.   Auditions for the musical will begin the first week in May on Tuesday May 8th, 2012.  Rehearsals will start immediately the week following auditions.   This will be a musical open to the public.. for all ages and for all levels of interest desired. Of course there will also be need for costumers, properties managers, set production and painting, stage management.. and so much more.  We welcome all who like to sing even if you would like to sit on a park bench in the play and sing. We welcome those who are pretty good on their feet and can dance up a storm.  We welcome all who wish to work behind the scenes.  There certainly is plenty to do. We are looking forward to working with everyone.  Further details as the time nears will be posted on this site and in local newspapers.
