It takes very little to make the neighborhood more attractive and welcoming for all.

Place trash and recycling bins at the curb between 6:00 pm the day before and 7:00 am on the scheduled collection day. Remove the empty containers by 10:00 pm. You could receive a fine if the containers are not removed.

Broken lid or other problem with the bin? Call 311 and provide the city with the bin number. Repairs and replacements are normally free.

If you see a street light does not come on, call Centerpoint Energy at 713-207-2222 and provide them with the pole number.

"HIDE IT, LOCK IT, OR LOSE IT" - Remove valuables from your car or keep them hidden from view.

Spring is here and neighbors have started "spring cleaning." Touch up paint, remove items from between your home and your neighbor's. Remove all unnecessary items from the front of your home, including keeping your trash and recycling bins out of sight.

Use the Calendar to find pick-up days for Heavy Trash. TREE WASTE includes tree limbs, branches and stumps. This waste is recycled by the city. JUNK WASTE includes furniture, appliances and other bulky material.

In Texas you can have up to two garage sales in each 12-month period that are exempt from sales taxes. If more, refer to this publication for details on collecting sales tax.
