I am Kelsey Scott, a Bachelor's of Arts candidate in the the Department of Environmental Studies at Ithaca College in Ithaca, New York. I am also a teaching assistant and legal research assistant for the Legal Studies Department. My research work addresses the legal implications of hydraulic fracking bans in New York State. I explore this compelling research problem through analysis of state and federal statues, local zoning laws, and established case precedent. Beginning in the Fall of 2012, I will be enrolled in a Master's of Science in Environmental Policy program at SUNY-College of Environmental Science and Forestry in Syracuse, NY. After I receive my Masters degree, I hope to work for an environmental non-profit law firm, such as the Natural Resources Defense Council or the Environmental Defense Fund.
