Project Title: INDIA:  The Bengal Tiger – culture and country
Li

PROJECT SUMMARY:

The Bengal tiger is one of India's most majestic and culturally significant animals. Unfortunately, owing to human interaction, these animals may become extinct. It is unknown whether India will be able to curtail the many threats to the tiger so that future generations may enjoy their wild beauty.

OVERALL VALUE:

Students gain an appreciation of the human impact from cultural and societal norms .  On the one hand India strives to save their beloved symbol.  On the other hand money and indifference has limited the range of the tiger.  These themes are repeated around the world as demonstrated through the world wide web and cross cultural communication.

TIPS FOR TEACHERS:

Encourage the students to explore the history of the tiger in India and the mapping technologies exhibiting the range of the tiger.

It is of special value if the students take advantage of CultureQuest contacts in India to explore the richness of cultural exchange.
