KE7MDQ Field Station
I built the field station using the following items, One SKB 5u rack mount case, Two vented 2u shelves (1u = 1.75 inches), One Jetstream JTPS28R power supply (1u in height), One yaesu ft-2800m 2 meter radio, One yaesu ft-857d hf radio with 2 meter
& 70 centimeter, One LDG AT-100 pro auto tuner

I used vented shelves to make mounting the radios easier (no drilling) and I was able to use the stock mobile mounting brackets for the radios, I used a universal bracket and self tapping screws for the tuner.

I started the construction with the bottom shelf by mounting the ft-857d and the ldg tuner and installed the shelf at the bottom of the case.

I then mounted the ft-2800m to the second shelf that I installed upside down (the shelf not the radio).

Last but not least I installed the power supply at the top of the rack. Below are photos of the finished project.

Note: The front cover is recessed and can be closed with the microphones in place. The microphone clips use the mounting screws for the top shelf and power supply

I have attached jumpers to bring the coaxial connections to the outer edge of the case to allow for easy access. All jumpers and power cables are zip-tied in place. I have allowed for easy access to the power cable connections so that I can power the radios from a battery.
