Welcome to Learning 2.0

Learning 2.0 allows you to learn more about popular and emerging technologies on the web that are changing the way people and organizations (including libraries) access information and communicate with each other. Web tools like blogs, MySpace, Facebook, YouTube (for video sharing) and Flickr (for photo sharing) are just some of the things the program focuses on.
The goals of Learning 2.0 are simple – explore, play and have fun. Seriously, that’s all. There are no grades, there are no quizzes and participation is completely voluntary. Increasing your awareness will be accomplishment enough.
This self-discovery program encourages you to take control of your own learning and to utilize lifelong learning skills through exploration and play. There are no classes or workshops offered to support this program. Learning 2.0 enables you to walk through an array of Discovery Exercises to help you become familiar with blogging, RSS news feeds, tagging, wikis, podcasting, video and image hosting sites, etc.
This program is based in large part on a program offered at the Public Library of Charlotte & Mecklenberg County (PLCMC). We give great thanks to PLCMC and the Missouri River Regional Library for generously allowing us to mimic their program.
