I am an Assistant Professor in Industrial Organizational Psychology at Illinois Institute of Technology (IIT). I earned my B.S. in psychology from the University of Pittsburgh, my M.A. in Human Resource Management from the George Washington University, and my M.S. and Ph.D in Industrial-Organizational Psychology from Old Dominion University.

My primary research interests include self-regulated learning with an emphasis on technology enabled instruction and transfer of training. My self-regulated learning research, to date, has focused on the correlates and outcomes of training motivation, understanding how factors unique to technology (e.g., technical difficulties and adaptive training) affect training outcomes, and examining the impact of a training intervention on the retention and professional identity of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) majors. Positive transfer of training refers to whether trainees use what they learned in training back on the job, requiring both generalization of learning to the job and maintenance of learning over time. My transfer of training research seeks to understand the individual and contextual factors that optimize both use of trained skills and effective implementation of trained skills. I also have a passion for research methods and statistics, which is reflected in the study design and analysis strategies I utilize and ties together my areas of interest.
