  • I head the Data team at Electronic Arts. We are hiring - contact me at kzaman@ea.com if interested.
  • At EA, the Data team's open source(Hadoop/Hive/Spark/Kafka/Storm), cloud based infrastructure powers analysis of petabytes of gamer and gameplay data. Machine learning models enable a variety of richly personalized player experiences via applications like content recommendations, targeted multi channel messaging, matchmaking and dynamically tuning in game difficulty. In our work on AI and Intelligent Systems we have built automated gameplay agents for game tuning and balancing leading up to the challenge of embedding true AI within the game itself.
  • At Greenplum, a division of EMC, I managed teams working on MADlib and the core Greenplum Database
  • I was previously at Yahoo! managing teams working on the HDFS and Map Reduce components of Apache Hadoop
  • As an engineer, I worked on what is now known as the OBIEE server -Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition
  • I completed my Ph.D. under Professor Kenneth A. Ross at the Department of Computer Science, Columbia University
  • I studied Computer Science and Engineering as an undergraduate at the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur.
