Assistant Professor Anargyros Katsampekis

I received my Ph.D. in 2006 from the University of Ioannina. My primary research interests are in Commutative Algebra, Algebraic Geometry, Algebraic Combinatorics and Graph Theory. In Commutative Algebra monomial ideals have been extensively studies over the last 30 years with great success. The next class of ideals that attracts a lot of attention is the class of binomial ideals, i.e. ideals generated by differences of monomials. My research until now has been concentrated on a special class of binomial ideals, namely toric ideals, and their corresponding varieties, called toric varieties.
