Sara awarded a Fellowship to go to Iceland!

Ph.D. student Sara Schaal was just awarded with the Leifur EirĂksson Fellowship to extend her study on the genetic basis of Atlantic cod ecotype divergence in the Gulf of Maine to include the population of cod in Iceland! In addition, she plans to extract DNA from ancient samples of cod bones in Iceland to identify whether we can see evidence for ecotypes from 1000 years ago. She will be headed to the University of Iceland in Fall 2018 to work with Dr. Steven Campana on the project.
