Lab's research in genome scans gives insight into common problems in populations genetics

A recent paper in Molecular Ecology by Patrick Meirman's enumerates the ‘Seven common mistakes in population genetics and how to avoid them’. These mistakes include giving more attention to genotyping than to sampling and forgetting that only a small portion of the genome will be associated with climate.

In a recent interview for the Ecology Student's Society, Patrick gives a shout-out to our work in population genetics and in the interpretation (or mis-interpretation) of data. He thinks a large problem in population genetics is large number of false positives that many genome-scan methods suffer from (we agree!) and cites our work as a "great series of papers" that give insight into this problem.

Thanks Patrick!
