I graduated from the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department of the University of Patras (Greece) in 1999.

My doctoral studies in the same Department focused on Natural Language Processing and the automatic learning of syntactic dependencies. I received my PhD degree in Natural Language Processing from the same Department in 2005, and continued my postdoctoral studies within the research program 'Pythagoras II - Eksairesis: Extraction of Concept Hierarchies from Web Text', from 2005 to 2007.

As a member of the Artificial Intelligence Group of the same Department (from 1999 to 2008), I have participated in European and Greek research and development projects in the areas of Computational Lexicography, Language and Speech processing, Corpus Processing, and Ontology Extraction.

I have been working for the Department of Informatics of the Ionian University (Corfu, Greece) since 2005; first (up to September 2009) as a member of the teaching staff (under yearly contracts), and as an appointed Lecturer from September 2009 until today.
