Kath Piros is a contemporary artist and art teacher who is passionate about manipulating glass and multi-media work.  Born in Vancouver, Canada, she has spent over 20 years honing her skills and teaching art in Silicon Valley, California.   Growing up in a family of painters, metalsmiths, and glass blowers, self-expression through art was a normal part of her upbringing.  She is passionate about sharing her art with others, teaching children and adults in schools, the community center and special needs programs.

In 2014, Kath and her family moved to Bellingham to be close to their B.C. roots. The house they bought had an art studio, and a life-long dream became a reality—"Kate Studio". She had a vision of creating a studio where adults and children could feel free to create without judgment, and artists could come and teach or learn to improve their skills.

Kath is thrilled to be working with kids again in her new studio, offering homeschool and after-school enrichment classes which include the Masters, sculpture, and self-portraits…or how about leather working, fused glass, zendoodles, or collaging? She teaches adults as well. Kath has all the materials, experience, and patience to work with students of all ages, and her studio is a testament to her passion for art, filled with shelves of paint and brushes, beads, printmaking supplies, a kiln, potter's wheel and loads of glass for fusing.

Although she loves to teach, she also creates fused glass and ceramic jewelry at Kate Studio. Her work was nominated for one of Martha Stewart's "American Made" awards, appeared on San Francisco-area fashion runways, and sold in various stores in Bellingham and in California. She has a permanent table where she sells at the Whatcom Art Market in Fairhaven.
