Karolina Safarzynska

I work as an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Economic Sciences at the University of Warsaw. I hold a PhD from the VU University, Amsterdam. I've been a visiting scholar at INET Oxford University and Santa Fe Institute. In the past, I worked for various NGOs and international organizations before deciding on pursuing an academic career. I am also a Contributing Author of the forthcoming Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) to be published in 2021 (Chapter 16).

In my work, I study how climate policies are affected by bounded rationality, using economic experiments, evolutionary game theory, macroeconomic and agent-based models.

In my most recent project, I examine physical limits to growth by developing circular economy models. See for details
