Biography
Eleftherios (Lefteris) Karipidis received the Diploma degree (5 years)
in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the Aristotle University of
Thessaloniki, Greece, in 2001, the M.Sc. degree in Communications
Engineering from the Technical University of Munich, Germany, in 2003,
and the Ph.D. degree in Electronic and Computer Engineering from the
Technical University of Crete, Chania, Greece, in 2008.
He was an intern with Siemens IC Mobile, Munich, in 2002 and with DoCoMo
EuroLabs, Munich, in 2003. He was a researcher with Telecommunications
Systems Institute, Chania, from 2004 to September 2008. From October
2008 to May 2013, he was with Communication Systems Division, Department
of Electrical Engineering, Linköping University, Sweden, initially as a
postdoctoral researcher and from January 2010 as an Assistant
Professor. In June 2013, he joined Ericsson Research, Stockholm, Sweden. He participated in the European collaborative projects as researcher in FP6 UBROAD (20042005) & COOPCOM (20062008) and as workpackage leader in FP7 SAPHYRE (20112013) & MAMMOET (20142016). His research interests are in the area of signal processing for
communications and networking, with current emphasis on multiantenna technologies for 5G wireless systems.
He served as an Editor of IEEE Communications Letters in 2012
and as a member of several Technical Program Committees including IEEE ICASSP, Globecom, PIMRC, VTC, SPAWC, and GlobalSIP. Since 2016, he is a member of IEEE Signal Processing for Communications and Networking Technical Committee.
