Zhen Kan received his Ph.D. degree in 2011 from the Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering Department at the University of Florida. After completing his doctoral studies, he worked as a postdoctoral research fellow with the Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) at Eglin AFB and University of Florida REEF. In 2016, Zhen Kan joined the University of Iowa in the Department of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering. Zhen Kan's current research interests include control of networked robotic systems, vision-based estimation and control, and Lyapunov-based nonlinear control, human-robot interaction, and human-assisted estimation, planning, and decision making.
