On September 26th Friends of the Kaw unveiled our newest project, signs at Kansas River access ramps highlighting interesting local history and natural history. Best of all, we have a new map of the river and safety information for boaters. This is only the first of many that we plan to develop.
The authors-- Dr. Cynthia Annett (eagles), Dr. Dale Nimz (history) and Laura Calwell, the Kansas Riverkeeper (safety). The signs were designed by Temashio Anderson and Nasbah Ben. Kansas River map by Temsahio Anderson and Heidi Mehl. Funding from the Elizabeth Schultz Environment Fund and the Kansas Humanities Council.
