Buck Creek beavers

Lower dam bordered by harvested corn field on lefthand side of photo and woodlot on the hillside to the right

Clean cobble substrate below the dam. Previously this was covered by a heavy layer of silt.

This stretch has had deeper water consistently this year than at anytime in previous 15 years.

The Lands Council in the state of Washington has received funding from the Washington Department of Ecology to investigate whether beaver reintroduction can replace plans for constructing new reservoirs. For more information on "the beaver solution" click here
