http://www.nadelspiel.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/02/thumbs-up2.jpgIt's high-time I select students of the week from our awesome German Program. This year, 2016-2017, is a typical year at Enloe - great students, great fun! So here are several fantastic students and reasons for their selection:

  1. Summer K. - Gold Recipient, National German Exam, German 2
  2. Emma L. - Gold Recipient, National German Exam, German 2
  3. Davis I-F. - Gold Recipient, National German Exam, German 2
  4. Lindsay D. - Gold Recipient, National German Exam, German 3
  5. Dimitry S. - Gold Recipient, National German Exam, German 4
  6. Hannah W. - Superior Achievement, German 1
  7. Wesley W. - Superior Achievement, German 1
  8. Richard O. - Superior Achievement, German 1
  9. Jane T. - Superior Achievement, German 1
  10. Tupshin Z. - Superior Achievement, German 1
  11. Ashley W. - Superior Achievement, German 1

Many more students are worthy of recognition, for sure, for a variety of reasons - politeness, seriousness, humor, kindness, industriousness - but the students named above do stand out, and we applaud them!!

Delta Epsilon Phi Inductees!!

posted May 25, 2016, 6:55 PM by Nabeel Kandah

Our Students of the Week are the newly inducted members of Enloe's Chapter of the German National Honor Society, Delta Epsilon Phi. The following individuals were inducted today in German 3 class:

Joey J.
Daniel H.
Harry C.
Liam P.
Sasha S.
Lily M.
Caroline M.
Laurel I-F.
Dimitry S.
Heather D.
Gigi C.
Nina K.

These illustrious students along with two returning Delta Epsilon Phi members, Audrey M. and Abigail C., will comprise next year's Honor Society members. Congratulations! Allow me to quote from these application essays:

"I would also love to be involved in more service projects, and just get to know more people interested in German."

"I would be excited to help raise awareness of German on our campus through this honor...."

"From the beginning of my educational experience with german (sic) in the sixth grade with Frau Garrison, I have been infatuated with the study of language."

"Now I find myself fascinated by the idea that every modern country has based its ideology off of the post-Westphalian nation-state, which was invented in Germany."

"My ultimate motivation for joining Delta Epsilon Phi is improving my community through German culture."

"By being a part of Delta Epsilon Phi, I would hope to contribute to its success by being a loyal member. Not only would I be obedient, but I would also want to make German flourish more at Enloe."

"Delta Epsilon Phi is appealing to me because of the sense of community."

"Through this National Honor Society I hope to encourage others to learn German and I hope to make a difference in my community."

"Although I am quiet at first, I have always enjoyed being around and working with others and I think  my ability to do so, as well as my open mind, will be a good contribution to Delta Epsilon Phi."

"As a part of the group I would like for us to do more service projects and try to expand the german (sic) program at Enloe."

"Without the education necessary to understand foreign countries and their customs, students will remain very America-Centric in their perspectives on international topics, oblivious to the intricate issues and concept (sic) relevant in the world at large and beyond our borders."

"Community service is important as it allows us to provide help to others in need. I plan to volunteer in these projects and suggest places that we may be able to volunteer at."

Whew! A more outstanding group of young people I cannot imagine. Gute Leistung, Freunde!

Laurel I.F - neue Vizepräsidentin vom Deutschverein
Heather D. - Schatzmeisterin
