Research Interests

My research focuses on Monte Carlo simulation methodology with recent emphasis on (1) simulation optimization (lately, in the presence of multiple objectives), and (2) rare event estimation.

I am looking to hire new Ph.D. students with a strong quantitative background to join my research group.  If you think our interests align and would like to work with me, please include the following in your email when you contact me.
  • A CV that lists all your degrees, schools, and relevant coursework. Please highlight any and all courses you have taken in mathematics, probability, statistics, simulation, and optimization, as well as any coding experience.
  • A brief description of your research interests and why you are interested in a Ph.D. in Operations Research/Simulation Methodology.
