"When you feel like quitting, think about why you started"

My name is Kaitlyn Gotthardt, I am a senior Social Work major at MacMurray College. I am working towards my Bachelors Degree in Social Work and minor in Psychology. I will graduate in May 2015. I have been recognized for my academic achievements by being inducted into the Phi Alfa Honor Society of the social work program.

Through my time at MacMurray College, I have gained knowledge in the different levels of social work; Micro, Mezzo, and Macro. I have been able to use my experiences to personally reflect and be successful leader in advocating for improving MacMurray College. While being a full-time student at MacMurray I held a job working 32-37 hours a week. My passions lies with working with the substance abuse population. I have volunteered and worked with youth adolescents, and adults in my home town struggling with substance abuse. I also have a passion to start my own agency in the St. Louis area to provide resources to those who are struggling with substance abuse. I plan to pursue specializing and starting my own agency during my Master Degree studies.
