Welcome to the Mount Washington Valley Amateur Radio Emergency Service Website. This site was designed to foster awareness for Amateur Radio Emergency Services, which is sponsored by the ARRL. ARES is a program aimed at provided communications services to public service agencies in times of need when commercial communication services are bogged down or inoperable. ARES members are Amatuer Radio operators who have the ability and training needed to communicate over radio waves to transfer messages that may be crucial to emergency services operations during man-made or natural disasters. In the spirit of volunteering ARES members devote their time and training to help those around them remain safe and assist public service agencies in maintaining crucial communications link.
