Pacific Northwest Bay Watershed Education and Training(B-WET) Grants

Proposals due on December 15, 2017

The Pacific Northwest B-WET program is a competitive grant program that supports new and existing, high quality environmental education programs. The grant program also fosters the growth of innovative programs and encourages capacity building and partnership development for environmental education programs throughout Oregon and Washington. Successful projects provide meaningful watershed educational experiences for students and related professional development for teachers.

Priorities for the PNW B-WET Program include:

1) Long-term classroom-integrated Meaningful Watershed Educational Experiences (MWEEs) for students combined with teacher professional development for MWEEs.

2) Programs focused on the issue of ocean acidification combining long-term classroom MWEEs for students with teacher professional development for MWEEs.

Grants range from $25,000 to $60,000

Eligible applicants include: K-12 public and independent schools and school systems; institutions of higher education; community-based and non-profit organizations and state or local government agencies, interstate agencies and Indian Tribal governments.

For profit organizations, foreign organizations, and foreign public entities are not eligible to apply.; however, for-profit and foreign organizations, and foreign public entities may participate as a project partner with an eligible applicant. Federal agencies are not allowed to receive funds under this announcement, but may serve as collaborative project partners and may contribute in-kind services. Individuals are not eligible to apply. While applicants do not need to be located in the targeted geographical regions specified in the program objectives, the primary participants of the projects must be located in the geographical regions specified in the program objectives.
