I'm not a morning person. I'm not a runner. So why in the world am I doing this?

Because We're Celebrating 10 Years Cancer Free!

When I was a freshman in high school my mom was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma . She underwent surgery, chemo, and radiation – and lived to tell about it! While there were of course trials and hardships during that period in my family’s life – we all actually look back at that time as a blessing. God works in truly mysterious ways, and He placed his hands upon my mom and our family and used us in ways we will never be aware. We give God all the glory for healing my mom and carrying my family through a very difficult time filled with fear and anxiety.  Ten years later my mom and I are joyfully celebrating her cancer-free life!

I am SO thankful for all the thousands of people who participated in this event years ago so that my mom is alive and well today! I want to give back what I can. I so deeply believe in this Society because I know cancer can strike anyone at anytime. Nobody is immune, cancer has no prejudice - even the healthiest of healthy (my mom) can have this horrible disease. I'm doing my part to find a cure - so that someday nobody will have to hear the words, "You have cancer."
