cj330-431 details

Students are strongly advised to enroll in both CJ330 and CJ431 simultaneously, if they are able to do so.

•  CJ330: Corrections -- In class, students will be visited weekly by men and women who live and work behind bars--veterans from both sides of the wall--who will discuss the politics and practices of inmates and staff in correctional settings of all sorts.
SEE BELOW FOR COURSE SYLLABUS LINK.

•  CJ431: Field Excursion to Local Correctional Facilities -- On consecutive Fridays, students will tour approximately eight distinct local, state, and federal correctional facilities in Southern California, speaking with inmates, guards, and wardens about the challenge of corrections as well as working and living inside.
SEE BELOW FOR COURSE SYLLABUS LINK.

DATES for class assignments and touring events are listed on the OFFICIAL SEMESTER CALENDAR below. Since all activities are subject to change, students should check the calendar each week for updates on all events. An "x" before a tour indicates approved time and date.
You must google each tour location and get yourself to each location for tours. Buses, when used, will leave from Viejas Arena on campus. Be 15 minutes early for all trips. Tardiness is tantamount to absent, since the bus -- and the prisons -- will not wait for you.
