There's no question in my mind that soldiers who fight for what they believe is all about "the right things" deserve all the praise and glory we can embellish them with; because (and, of course, "if") they are truly doing it from their heart of hearts for greater good and other noble motivation.
What is so very sad is that soldiers' lives are given up so freely by those with the power to do so. We've seen too many times where we have engaged our forces because of 'causes' which turned out to be erroneous, at best...perhaps even a bit 'sinister', if you know what I mean.
Likewise, when the freedoms our ancestors gave their lives for in their day are being eroded in today's world of control and management of people's lives; isn't that very much like a "slap-in-the-face" to those who fought for those freedoms in earlier wars? Didn't our ancestors fight to ensure government(s) could not become the kind of government(s) we're experiencing today?
I'll go out on a bit of a limb here, to dare to discuss the proverbial 'conspiracy theories', but I think the Truth (with a capital "T") about wars and world unrest, and even some forms of 'terrorism' might be in the hearts and minds of probably a very few individuals in 'lofty places'...places most of us do not know anything about. Call them "The Illuminati", "New World Order", or other similar 'conspiratorial entity'...but it seems as though 'someone' is pulling strings and pushing buttons from very high levels of humanity's power ladder, y''know?
I believe in a Supreme Being (or 'force', or something beyond our understanding) that is in complete control of all things. Whatever that force or entity is, and however it enforces its ultimate, empirical laws that cannot be broken, changed, or otherwise made ineffective is not easy to grasp, but sometimes we can get tiny glimpses into the profound all-encompassing, all-powerful, all-benevolent, and all-loving entity (Divine Spirit? God?) simply by studying and learning about the beauty and perfectness in everything all around us, our world, our planet, our solar system, our universe.
We come to 'expect' things to simply continue on smoothly forever, because things have already been continuing smoothly for eons before we even began to understand who and what we are as human beings. Not that pain or suffering or other forms of what we consider 'negativity' are absent in our sphere of existence...we know otherwise...but even what we think of as 'unfair' for a loving God to allow is really just part of how all things must work, in order to maintain overall balance and other 'perfectness' in line with the grander scheme of everything...in my (humble) opinion, that is.
I'm just sayin'...
